Volunteer

The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden can only grow with volunteers. Join in the excitement of a new beginning at the Botanical Garden. Openings may be available in these areas:

  • Guest Services - admissions desk and garden shop, conservatory and outdoor garden guides
  • Horticulture - garden, conservatory or Show House maintenance
  • Education - assisting with youth or adult programming and events
  • Special Events

Dig in the dirt or provide support for an event - opportunities exist for many interest and experience levels. Learn, have fun and help all guests enjoy this unique environment that blooms year-round.

To submit an application choose from one of the volunteer applications below. Once we have received your information, we will contact you for an interview if your skills and availability match current openings.

Please note that the majority of volunteer roles are on-going commitments throughout the year. There are one-time events that we welcome assistance with from those who cannot volunteer on a regular basis. There are limited numbers of short-term and group assignments.

The Botanical Garden does not accept applications for court-appointed community service at this time.
