Recently highlighted as one ‘Des Best’ lunch spots in Des Moines by Catch DSM!
Fans of HoQ, the sustainable farm-to-table restaurant in Des Moines’ East Village, will enjoy the savory goodness from owners Chef Suman and Dr. Cynthia Hoque in their place at the Botanical Garden: Flora.
The HoQ Mediterranean Bowl is a popular item from his flagship restaurant (which will no longer serve lunch) offered at Flora. This vibrant dish features lentil falafel, seasonal vegetables, turmeric couscous and Milton Creamery quark cheese.
Flora is open 11 am to 2 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
Sunday brunch available 10 am to 2 pm.

Create your perfect summer evening with Flora’s picnic boxes for two—featuring charcuterie or sandwich options with fresh sides.
- Vegetarian options available
- Wine and non-alcoholic beverages available
- Pick up from concessions between 5–7 PM
Advance reservations recommended.
Pizza on the Patio (Fridays)
Spend your Friday evening on the patio with handcrafted pizza and beautiful views of the water garden and downtown Des Moines. Each reservation includes:
- A light appetizer
- One 14” fast-fired pizza
- A sweet finish
Pair with wine or beverages available for purchase.
Reservations required. Admission to the Garden is not included. You can purchase admission in the cafe or at the front desk before touring the Garden. Members get in free.
June 9 Pride Night
Join us on celebrate Pride and enjoy a Rainbow Smash: $12
Music in the Garden
Food and beverages are available for purchase during the event.
Flora (Veranda):
Fast fired pizzas, boxed salads, frozen yogurt, cookie or bar option, wine, beer, cocktails, and seasonal drinks.
