The health benefits of being in nature have been enjoyed for centuries. Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, is a practice from Japan which emphasizes the physical and mental health benefits of time spent in nature. Time spent in nature boosts immunity, lowers blood pressure and stress hormones, prevents and relieves stress and anxiety, and increases cognitive functioning. Forest bathing experiences typically last 2-3 hours, so this virtual experience will provide you with an introductory taste to the practice and the wellness benefits it provides!
You are invited to tune in from your own natural space, be that your yard, a nearby park, or indoors surrounded by natural objects. For our November and December classes that will take place after the sun sets, you will be able to choose to either bundle up and venture outside into your own space for a moonlight experience or stay indoors in a quiet space with natural objects nearby.
